Here's exactly how we do this.

   Demo if needed

   Old wood porch? Crumbling brick? We tear out clean and dispose responsibly. Footings checked or replaced.

2. 02

   Footings + forms

   Frost-depth footings on every porch and step (Ohio code = 32" min). Skipping this is how porches heave in February.

3. 03

   Pour + steps

   Steps poured monolithic with the porch slab when possible — fewer joints, fewer crack points.

4. 04

   Railings ready

   We pre-set sleeves for railing posts wherever you want them. Easier than drilling cured concrete later.
